The recording begins with the end of a Duz (Laundry Detergent) jingle,
and then Clayton (Bud) Collier with a PSA about saving your fat (to
sell to the
government for the war effort - fat was used in making shells) and
then a
CBS Network ID. Then there's a "WNBF in the Arlington Hotel, Binghamton"
ID followed by a commercial for the McLean's Cold Fur Storage.
Then a 10 minute excerpt from the "I'll Grant You That" show hosted
by
Ed Scala and Ron McDermott.
Although I am a year younger than that recording, I remember Grants,
McLean's, the Arlington Hotel. And only WNBF survived them all.
This came from one of those 18 inch diameter transcription disks that
were
once sitting in the WNBF production studio in the Sheraton Inn. The
transcription
disk (and several others) disappeared when they remodeled the studio.
I think Bill Parker has them.
Please post this rare recording to the Binghamton Radio Archive.
