John E. Madden
of Binghamton
John E. Madden, 76, of Binghamton, died Monday, August 8, 2005, at Wilson Memorial Hospital. He was predeceased by his grandfather, John Joseph Madden; as well as his parents, Margaret T. and John Francis Madden. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Irene; his children, Kathleen and Joseph Galloway, John Francis Madden and his fiancée Aida McInnis; his grandchildren, Erin Dolores Galloway and Sean Madden Galloway; a brother and sister-in-law, Robert Francis and Patricia Madden, Greene; a sister and brother-in-law, Mary and Jerry Kelly, Binghamton; several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was a lifelong member of St. Paul's Church, Binghamton, and a graduate of both Binghamton North High School and Syracuse University. He worked over 40 years as an engineer with WNBF, later being renamed WBNG-TV. He enjoyed traveling with friends, photography, and volunteered with R.S.V.P.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 9:30 a.m. at the Thomas J. Shea Funeral Home, Inc., 137 Robinson Street, Binghamton, followed at 10:00 a.m. with a Funeral Mass at St. Paul's Church. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery, Harpursville, N.Y. Friends are invited to call Thursday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
