Thomas George Siglin August 24, 1947 - January 29, 2018 It is with great sadness that the family of Thomas (Tom) George Siglin announces his passing away in his home surrounded by his loving family, on January 29, 2018 (70yrs old), after a long battle with cancer. A native of Vestal, New York, and presently of Pleasant Grove, Utah, he was born August 28, 1947 in Elmira, New York, graduating from Southside High School (Class of 1966) and attended Broome Community College (Class of 2012) receiving an Associates Degree in Communications at age 65! Throughout his illustrious career as an Electronics Engineer, he worked for the Elmira City School District (13yrs); Senior Technician for the 3M Company (3 yrs); Electronic Technical Supervisor for SUNY Binghamton (3 yrs); Vice President and Document Imaging Service Manager for PMI Inc (33 yrs); and Radio Engineer for WHRW, WMRV, WMXW, WENE, and others; He also served in many volunteer capacities for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints: Bishop, Binghamton Ward, NY; Bishopric First Counselor, Owego Ward, NY; High Counsel Member, Owego Stake; Boy Scouts of America Cubmaster and Scoutmaster; and numerous other positions. He was an Amateur Radio aficionado (WA2LTD, Extra status) and held many volunteer positions, including President for Society of Broadcast Engineers, Chapter 1, Binghamton, NY; President of Broome Amateur Radio Association of Broome County, NY. Tom will be lovingly remembered by his darling wife Kathleen (Kathy) Ford Siglin, devoted children Thomas (Cheryl) Siglin Jr, Elaine Shandra Siglin, Catrina (Ben) Siglin Poulson, Ann (Christopher) Nute Anderson, his host students from Central America, Mexico, and the Caribbean: Ivania, Nancy, Chantal, Mario, William, Hoxniani, Karla, Leticia, Jaime, Carlos, Moises, Santiago, Felipe, Roosevelt, and countless others who called him “Papa Tom.” He will also be fondly remembered by his 10 grandchildren: Michael, Zachary, Matthew, Daniel, Rebecca, Gabriel, Samuel, Alyson, Elijah, Isaac, and his host grandchildren. Tom will also be forever remembered by his dearly beloved brothers and sisters David (Sachiko) Siglin, previously deceased sister RuthAnn (Jack) Daugherty, Janet (Steve) Johnson, Joan (Dale) Scott, Joseph (Sue) Siglin and Mike (Kate) Siglin. Numerous nieces, nephews and extended family and dear friends will also cherish his memory. Many thanks to Huntsman Cancer Institute and Rocky Mountain Hospice Health Care for their excellent care during Tom's illness. Instead of flowers, Tom requested that donations in his memory be made to the Huntsman Cancer Institute at www.huntsmancancer.org (Ways to Give). In his memory, a luncheon will be served on Wednesday, January 31, 2018 at 3-5:30 pm at the LDS Meeting House on 105 West 1800 North, Pleasant Grove, UT 84062 with a Funeral Service at 5:30-6:30 pm.

To celebrate the life of Tom Siglin, a memorial service will be held at noon on Saturday, February 24th in the Owego Meeting House -430 Montrose Turnpike, Owego, New York 13827-6108. It will be followed by a luncheon in the cultural hall. All who knew him or had any association with him are encouraged to attend.
