Chapter Meeting Report

Meeting started at 7:41 pm.
Raffle of $6.00 was won by Vinnie Lopez and donated his
winnings to our chapter.
Secretary’s Report- Reading of the Feb 14, 2006 minutes was accepted as read.
Treasurers Report- Treasures report- $X,XXX.54. This includes proceeds from the March raffle.
Old Business-
1] An email will be sent, for a poll of members to
consider another day of the week that might prove more provident. Staying with
the current Tuesday meeting day or moving the meeting day to Thursday was
suggested.
2] The April meeting is scheduled at the National Weather
Service in Binghamton, NY. David Nicosia will update us on the latest receiving
and transmitting procedures.
3] May’s meeting will be presented by Ken Dillard from
Staten Island Technologies
4] June’s meeting is still open. Jim Pratt will contact
Gordon Ichikawa for a possible tour of his tower facility. Tom Siglin to review
the possibility of visiting McIntosh facilities.
5] July will again be the “Almost Never Rain Picnic” at
Tom Siglin’s house in Vestal, NY. Please bring a dish to pass.
New Business-
1] Tom Siglin has been working on “youth” and “student”
fellowships that SBE Chapter 1 could contribute to. Up to 5 students per year
could be enrolled to the
first year SBE membership. Chapter 1 would pay the full
year membership, at each entry level, less $1.00.
2] Vinnie Lopez, SBE Chairman for membership, gave an update
on the SBE National membership drive. Vinnie also mentioned, that a check for
our chapter will be forth coming. This check is for Chapter 1 members helping
out with the SBE 22 convention that was held in Verona, NY.

PROGRAM: Ron Shoemaker gave us a tour of the new A/V
production facilites at the Broome
County Arena. This was a behind the scenes look at how pre and post production
is accomplished.
