Secretary’s Report- Stated as written.

 

Treasurers Report-

1] Treasury balance- No report

2] Raffle proceeds of $5.00 to be added to our Chapter 1 treasury.

 

Old Business-

1] The May 14th meeting will be held at the Clearchannel conference room at 320 North Jensen Rd., Vestal NY starting at 7:30 PM. Jon Scaptura will have a  short DVD on the Salt River Project, re: Tower Safety. Additionally, Tom Siglin will present a DVD on Antenna Models. The 6:00 PM Supper will be at Denny’s Restaurant (junction of Bunn Hill Rd & Vestal Pkwy, Vestal, NY).

 

2] June’s SBE meeting will be at Denny’s Diner- Denny’s Restaurant (junction of Bunn Hill Rd & Vestal Pkwy, Vestal, NY) on June 11th at 12:00 noon.

 

3] Our July 9th (Thursday) meeting will be our annual “Never Rain Picnic” hosted by Tom and Kathy Siglin will start at 6:00 PM and run to dark. Location is at 108 Clark St., Vestal, NY. Bring a dish to pass. Hot dogs, hamburgers, chicken; SBE Chapter 1 will provide beverages, condiments and a good time.

 

4] “A Taste of NAB”, presented by Larry Bloomfield will be Thursday August 27th. Final details TBA at a later date.

 

New Business-

1] We had brief discussion that referenced the future of the EAS Alert protocol technology to be available in 2010.

Program-

David Nicosia from the NWS (National Weather Service) at the Greater Broome County Airport was our presenter for the evening.  Discussed was the next EAS RMT to be May 07,2009 at 1:15 pm. Additional discussion was the need to provide “live” event codes instead of test codes to really test some of the “true” EAS codes. The balance of the presentation covered past weather events and current model trends.
