BUSINESS:

Meeting started at 7:30 PM

Raffle was won by__________; $10.00 was donated to the Chapter 1 treasury.

Secretary’s Report- Reading of the March 9, 2004 minutes was accepted as read.

Correction noted- WEBO’s newly acquired transmitter was installed with the correct frequency. WEBO’s frequency, itself, was not changed.

Treasurers Report- $XXX.51 with the $10.00 current raffle proceeds.

Old Business-

1] Don Perkins suggested a collaboration among engineers that still need to setup

the satellites for the State Emergency Management Office(SEMO). Those using the newly supplied dishes will receive from AMC-5.

2] May will be a presentation on Harris transmitters. June’s meeting will either be a luncheon or a night meeting. Two events for July- The annual "never rain" picnic will be held on July 17th beginning 4:00 PM till dusk, at Tom Siglin’s house in Vestal, NY. Larry Bloomfield will be our special guest. An open invitation to our fellow chapter members at 2 and 22 is extended. The mini NAB show in Ithaca College, Ithaca, NY. will be Monday, July 19th with the buffet supper starting at 5:00 PM. and the presentation venue to follow. Chapter SBE, SMPTE and non SBE engineers, Ithaca college students and faculty are encouraged to attend. Dave Allen will check on the buffet supper arrangements. A sponsor is needed to bear the costs involved to put this show on. A straw vote showed that most everyone present would be able to attend and be present for the buffet at 5:00pm.

New Business-

1] Bill Sitzman and Don Perkins were welcomed as new SBE & Chapter 1 members.

2] Scott Phillips stated the New York Electronic Service Dealers Association (NYESDA) representing the independent consumer electronic servicers though

out the State of New York, agrees with the concept of the Senate bills S00897 and S00890A. There is however, a number of concerns with both bills as currently proposed. As these two bills are presently written, the potential of recycling fines applying to us, the final recipient of unusable crt and electronic equipment, in general, is greatly increased. Providing appropriate recycling containers to each electronic service businesses in New York State, at no cost to the service business, for the appropriate disposal of these items was stated.

PROGRAM: Don Perkins spoke on the history of WEBO-FM, along with a presentation and update on WEBO-AM. The second half of the program was a tour of the facilities of WLTB-FM 101.7 / 102.5 studios.
