Meeting started at 7:38 PM.

50/50 Raffle  was won by Mark Saia

Secretary’s Report- Reading of the April 11, 2006 minutes was accepted as read.

Treasurers Report-  $X,XXX.39 This includes proceeds from the May raffle.

 

Old Business-

1] June’s meeting (June 13th), will be a tour of McIntosh Labs promptly starting at 6:00 PM. RonEvans, VP of Engineering will be the presenter.  We will be eating at Niko’s Diner- Court St. in Binghamton, NY., after the tour, at about 7:45 PM.

2] July will again be the “Almost Never Rain Picnic” at Tom Siglin’s house in Vestal, NY. Please bring a dish to pass.

3] Tom Siglin is working on “youth” and “student” fellowships that SBE Chapter 1 could contribute to. Up to 5 students per year could be enrolled to the first year SBE membership. Chapter 1 would pay the full year membership, at each entry level, less $1.00.

An update will be available at our next meeting.

 

New Business-

1] A poll of SBE members present, agreed to keep Tuesday as the meeting day for the present time.

2] Larry Bloomfield will  present- “A Taste of NAB” on Monday August 7th at 7:00 PM. Time and location TBA. This year, manufacturers supported venues will pay for the dinner.

3] September’s meeting will be a 12:00 noon luncheon at the Park Diner- Conklin Ave in Binghamton, NY

4] Applications are available to attend RSI. Contact Jim Pratt if you would like to attend.

5] Elections are coming up. Those who like to run for office are encouraged to submit their name to the Secretary, Scott Phillips before June 13th.  Scott will be heading up the “ railroad committee” and can be reached at work 797-0066 weekdays. An email will be sent out reflecting the current officers and positions open.

PROGRAM: Gino Ricciardelli, consulting engineer, gave a digital/analog update referencing  the “Countdown to Analog Shut Down”. Steve Miller, WICZ-TV40  engineer, also shared information with a working digital converter desk top setup demonstration.
