BUSINESS:

Meeting started at 8:18 PM.

50/50 Raffle David Allen won the raffle. $8.00 was donated to Chapter 1.

Secretary’s Report-

Reading of the July 9th minutes was accepted as read.

Treasurers Report-

Accepted as stated. Additional $31.00 from raffles was added to our checking account.

Old Business-

1] Chapter 1 will be recognized as the founding chapter at the Turning Stone Casino on September 26th. A room will be provided to accommodate our members for our meeting. Bill Sitzman, Scott Phillips & Tom Siglin to look into obtaining a banner for Chapter One that can be used at out display booth during the convention. Wording will include "SBE Chapter 1- The Founding Chapter" with possible "Binghamton, NY". A hand out paper will include the history of Chapter 1 on the front side. The opposite side would include current officer and member information, along with our web site information. Scott Phillips & Tom Siglin to coordinate the distribution of 500 printed copies.

Lunch and SBE Chapter 1’s meeting will be at 12:00 noon. Scott Phillips, Sr. to notify

Vinie Lopez of the room commitment and time.

2] A fall meeting for October will be in the Owego/Sayre, NY area, with a possible tour of WATS/WAVR in Sayre. Dinner meeting might be held at O’Briens Inn. Larry Brown to advice us by August. Tentative plans for the November program, to be held at WSKG46 TV with a Tektronix seminar presentation. December would be the holiday party and January/February to be the winter luncheons.

PROGRAM: Gino Ricciardelli gave a slide presentation on the early days of WNBF-TV and WINR-TV in the Binghamton, NY area. Additional old newspaper articles were also presented along with a oral account of "how it was" in the beginning development of television.
